Proposal for City of Dreams Pavilion, a temporary pavilion on Governors Island, NYC, which aims to rethink sustainability, and includes a lifecycle plan for all materials used.

 

Dande-lounge is covered in 33,470 plastic bags to raise awareness of their prolific wastefulness and recycling challenges. The pavilion is structured by reclaimed chain link fence, folded into panels and secured with cable ties and tent stakes. It's nautilus form, varying qualities of light, and movement and sound in the breeze give the pavilion an organic life beyond its mundane materials.
